CHARMIE

Discover one of Toronto’s musical gems through the passionate singer/songwriter Charmie. Born in Haiti, Charmie began exploring her musical talents at the young age of nine. As a self-taught musician, she excels at playing guitar, piano, bass, drums and even beatboxing. Her contemporary style of music is a unique fusion of Rhythm & Blues and Pop Soul. Known for fostering a deep connection with her audiences, Charmie's words go straight from her heart to yours. In addition to her live performances, Charmie has also made a name for herself as a songwriter and collaborator. She co-wrote on Nelly Furtado's latest album “ 7 “ and even received a mention in Vogue magazine.

I have traveled the world and enjoyed many accomplishments as an Event DJ and Production Manager. I have been honoured with various awards over the years. In 2003 with a Lifetime Achievement Award, in 2008 Canada’s Stylus DJ Awards and was inducted into “DJ Hall Of Fame”, and "Life Time Achievement Award" in 2023 for shaping Canada's Urban Music.

I organized concerts featuring Doug E. Fresh, Lost Boys, AZ, Busta Rhymes, SOS Band, Alicia Keys to name a few. I also ventured into club ownership dating back 20 years, featuring musicians such as Ali Shaheed Mohammed and Jaheim. In 2003 I joined IrieFest as their resident DJ which then turned into their DJ/stage manager for artists such as Faye Ann Lyons, Bunji Garlin, Wayne Wonder, Richie Spice, and Farmer Nappy to name a few. Then in 2004, I began working with Beerilicious where I provide 4 days of entertainment annually at the Toronto Festival Of Beer to present.

​In every decade since I began working as a DJ, I have earned appreciation from thousands of fans internationally in America, Dubai, Asia, Europe, and Jamaica as well as the U.S. In 2006, I continued to hold the record for one of the most popular and longest-running shows called 'Loungin' on CKLN until the station closed.

Presently, along with DJing various events in Toronto, I've ventured into the restaurant business. In 2024 I will be celebrating my 50-year anniversary in the music business and DJing.
